Implementation News: “Ben Semchee: What I Learned at the Litecoin Summit” AND Blockchains, LLC: Is There a Blockchain-Based Smart City in the Works?

I don’t share Ben Semchee lightly or often, unless there is something worth passing along.

In the linked video, Ben recaps some of the information that he was privy to at the recent Litecoin Summit recently held in San Francisco.  The main takeaway I got from this video was that the implementation by vested parties is happening much faster than originally anticipated.  At the 9:55 point, Ben makes an interesting statement on how the pace of cryptocurrency implementation will move quickly in the next three months.  Keep this thought in mind when you are checking the news headlines and if you follow any of the recommended news and YouTube outlets.  We’re going to find out just how accurate of a statement that is.

Near the end of the video, Ben also makes a reference to Blockchains, LLC, which is a company that focuses on ethereum-based technology and applications.  The land they purchased is in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.  Tesla, Google, and Switch also have operations there.  I did a bit of research [link TBD], and considering who else resides there, I would surmise that there is ample electricity and data transmission networks to support operations at a large scale; in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised with the plans already in place to to build an actual city, that there might be plans to build a “smart” city utilizing Ethereum blockchain technology (and/or some other blockchain and cryptocurrency network technology as well.)  Time will tell.

I tried doing some digging on people involved with Blockchains, LLC, but didn’t come up with any significant connections that immediately stood out.  I may or may not dig deeper into this.  Regardless, it might be worth keeping tabs on Blockchains, LLC.

SIDE NOTE: In regards to the “know your source” aspect of DYOR, Ben shares how it is that he receives all the information that he passes along to everyone.

I’ll end the post at that.

DYOR, enjoy, and be well, Everyone.
