I’m a crypto enthusiast currently residing in Chicago. I first heard about bitcoin back in 2010/11 when it was first mentioned as an alternative digital currency that was outside the control and manipulation of the current banking system. When the price of bitcoin spiked after the Cyprus bank collapse bail-in, it dawned on me that bitcoin had true potential to be a viable financial instrument outside of the US dollar, in a manner similar to precious metals. It wasn’t until early 2017 that I truly began to see the implications of cryptocurrencies (and by extension, blockchain technology,) in a world that was going from centralized-everything to a more decentralized, local, face-to-face and peer-to-peer in interaction.
Since then, I ventured down the rabbit hole and never looked back. I’m always finding something new to learn about, and with the technology still in its infancy, it’s exciting to witness it as it grows.
Along the way, I’ve learned a few things (and made my share of mistakes) and this website and the meetups I host are just a couple ways I can pass on what I’ve learned and help others to make better informed decisions.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. Be well, Everyone.
